HAWAIIAN MOI “FISH OF KINGS”

Clyde Tamaru alerted us to a recent filming of Iron Chef featuring a local favorite - MOI! See the post below for the You Tube link.

If you did not catch it, the video Hawaiian Moi "Fish of Kings" was featured on Iron Chef. A little bit of history also. The natural spawning of moi in captivity allowing the closing of the life cycle of moi was achieved by Dr. Robert May at HIMB back in the early 1970's. That achievement would ultimately lead to development of the culture technology being used today. HIMB's bottomfish program still works closely with Hukilau Foods to improve their hatchery outputs...
