Our colleague Sylvia sent the flyer below for the Fishers Forum. As many of you know, fisheries issues always seem to be contentious. Although many of us end up testifying at public meetings, etc. because we care about our reefs, we then find that we value our fish populations for different reasons: gustatory, economic, maybe spiritual renewal - and the fights break out.
In science when there is a question, we try to look at the issue from as many angles as possible - to look both in and outside of the box, to value all possible solutions and then test each for effectiveness. Here is a chance to listen to one set of voices that will be speaking out at legislative and public sessions - should be an interesting and entertaining evening.
Aloha,
Mark
