Aloha,
I will be in D.C. for the next week - back on the 6th. Sal will be back on the 5th - so I am getting this out early.
Thanks to Cindy for doing a group last weekend, Jimmy for extra boat runs for the NOAA workshop, and to Sharon, Phil and Greg for coming in on short notice to do a tour for some colleagues from UC Davis. Much appreciated.
We continue to slowly add more tours and still have spaces on others, so check the CALENDAR.
As to some enrichment - take a look at the blog post below. Looks like some excellent talks coming up by HIMB researchers.
Reminders: Please note the schedule change for the shuttle van to the mall - it is on the 1/2 hour now. We will need to account for this for tours. Also, last I checked there was a sandbar shark in the NSF lagoon. I believe they are feeding these animals pH tags to see how well the tags will work (correlates feeding with movement recorded by a different type of tag). However, the sandbar is much harder to see than other sharks have been in that lagoon, so don't spend too much time there!
Mahalo!
Mark
